Should I stay or should I go?
You don’t need to be a fan of The Clash to have this question reverberating in your head.
Sometimes we think that jumping from position to position is not good and looks terrible on a cv. And that is true to a degree. Especially if your job history resembles the average tenure of a Chelsea Football manager.
But what if you’re staying too long in your job?
Reflecting on my own career before I struck out on my own, the last two positions I had amounted to thirteen years. Both great jobs and career progression, but on reflection I could have probably have had another two positions which would have given me more opportunities for progression and learning.
So what do you think?
If I go there will be trouble, and if I stay it will be double?
